I am thrilled to be your guide on your journey to optimal health. Food and good nutrition has played a central role in my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the foodie culture of Northern California wine country in a multicultural household. I was strongly influenced by my mother’s flare for international cooking, my collegiate tennis coach father, my talented older  brother (now accomplished chef/tv host) and my grandmother who lived with diabetes. I saw how important food and nutrition was on many fronts, including but not limited to: artistry and enjoyment, optimizing athletic performance and managing chronic disease. Early on I had a love of science (nerd alert!) and a strong desire to help people. By the time I reached high school I knew I wanted to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). So I set my sights on UC Davis, and then internship and I became a RDN in 2006.

My experience in this field includes extensive work working one-on-one with individuals across a range of ages, body types, backgrounds and diagnoses. I have been practicing medical nutrition therapy in clinical settings for over a decade with additional expertise in kidney disease nutrition, as well as maternal and early life nutrition. As a college instructor I am also passionate about sharing my expertise for nutrition and health through engaging hands-on workshops, lectures and seminars. I am frequently hired to consult in a variety of inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities to ensure survey readiness and nutrition related compliance.

I believe that food is both fuel and fun, a healthy diet comes in many forms and I am committed to supporting my clients achieve their unique wellness goals in a way that works for them. I don't believe in rigid diet rules or demonizing foods, and I want my clients to enjoy food and a healthy lifestyle free from fear mongering and misinformation.

When I am not counseling, teaching or consulting, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and two energetic sons, going for a run, singing and eating all the delicious food Sonoma County has to offer.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to help empower you to better your health, your quality of life, and your relationship with food. Because food is awesome! How cool is it that something we need for survival can be so satisfying, fun, and pleasing? My passion for food and love of learning about the human body led me to nutrition. I grew up in the food-Mecca that is Napa Valley in a household where home cooking was a family event and meals were an activity to be shared together. I learned to appreciate all kinds of foods and view eating as not just a necessity but an adventure.

I went to college in the beautiful Central California coast at Cal Poly where I majored in Applied Nutrition and honed my passion for maternal and child nutrition. Discovering the impact a woman’s diet during pregnancy has on the life-long health of her child got me hooked! That’s where I wanted to take my career and focus my learning efforts. After becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), I went on to get my masters in maternal and child nutrition from UC Davis and began working towards my lactation consultant certification.

As a dietitian, I strive to meet my patients “where they are.” Through individualized, patient-focused care I help clients meet the goals that are important to them. My satisfaction comes from helping give women the tools to find the inner strength and confidence to take charge of their health. When I’m not supporting awesome women lead their journey to nourishment, I love walking my dog, going for hikes, camping when I can, and watching movies...and eating yummy food.
